NEtflix Australia buffering resolved - pErth

Check your NBN plan speed

If you are trying to figure out why your Netflix keeps pausing, your first step is to check with your provider which plan you are signed up to. Then keep them honest by checking your speeds on a service like www.speedtest.net . See if the reported speed matches your plan speed.

Make a note of the typical evening speeds that your provider offers and run a few tests throughout a week.

Check how many other devices are online

Even the top NBN plan can struggle if there are simply too many devices online. Luckily for you, we find that most of this congestion is between your WiFi modem and the devices in your home. As in - Too many devices on your WiFi at the same time can cause buffering and your video stream to stop and start.

Where things get interesting is how your WiFi can be impacted by other networks like your neighbours. Our cabling solutions put an end to in-home congestion.

Most streaming devices and TV's come with an Ethernet jack

If you've just purchased a new TV and want to get the best picture quality possible, then we can almost guarantee it has an RJ-45 Ethernet or LAN jack. New TV's are all competing on the basis of picture quality and using the Ethernet connection is the best way to achieve this.

On this page is a photo showing a CAT6 Ethernet cable connected behind a TV which might help you locate the port on your TV or other online streaming device.

Sport streaming requires more bandwidth

If you find Netflix and Stan works fine but you have issues with Kayo then the problem might be because sport streaming requires higher bandwidth and places more strain on your WiFi network .

Internet-enabled high-definition televisions need fast internet and consistent signal strength to facilitate 4K content. The NBN recommends a 5Ghz WiFi connection or hard wired Ethernet for the best experience and we can provide one or both of these solutions.

How can I connect my Smart-TV or streaming box to Ethernet?

You need to be an ACMA registered cabler in order to permanently install an Ethernet cable. But a way around this is you can purchase a CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable from an electronics retailer and lay it on your floor.

After connecting one end to your modem and the other end to your TV, check in your TV's Network setup menu that it has recognized the new connection. The TV might also notify you that it is connected.

This type of cable is unsuitable for permanent installation so contact us if you want the proper solid-core Ethernet cable hidden inside your walls and roofspace.

Value for money with our solutions

Our cabling solutions connect your Smart-TV, foxtel and streaming box to your NBN modem and we can also check the performance of your NBN connection to ensure you are receiving what you are paying for.

Our technicians will make sure that any proposed solution will make a difference to your online streaming. Either to stop or reduce buffering or to improve picture quality. When we are finished - everything is fully tested, connected and working. Simply get in touch and let us know about your home network setup.
