How do we locate underground cable faults?
We have time-domain reflectometer (TDR) test equipment for pinpointing the location of a cable fault. This tells us how many metres long a copper cable is. Our test meter can even tell if the wires are corroded or wet with moisture. Faster diagnosis can lead to a faster repair! All photos on this page are from our own technicians.
Do I need to replace my old cabling in the ground?
If you are unsure if your lead-in cable needs replacement - we can test it. We can also replace a cable that is simply old or has joins in it from previous repairs. Cable types that we can replace include Coaxial for Hybrid-Fibre-Coaxial NBN and 2-pair telephone cable for NBN Fibre-To-The-Node and Fibre-To-The-Curb.
Can you replace the cable from the street to my home?
We are able to replace the complete copper 2-pair lead in cable from the street pit to your home. We can also install new P20 Telecommunications conduit or repair existing sections.
In the past, this cable ran telephone and ADSL services. These days it is being used for NBN Fibre-To-The-Node and Fibre-To-The-Curb. We also work with Hybrid-Fibre-Coaxial (HFC) Coaxial cables.
