Fibre Optic installation and maintenance

TechTV cabling provide fibre optic installation and maintenance. Fibre is actually really simple, it is just like a data cable except it transmits your data via light signals instead of electrical. Multiple wavelengths of light can be sent down the same fibre cable which significantly increases the bandwidth capacity.

We can fix broken optical fibre cables by either replacing it or re splicing it. We can also test the repaired link with a Light Source / Power Meter and an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer if required. 

Our fibre optic solutions are extremely simple and are supplied to us by an Australian supplier meaning if something goes wrong we have local parts and support available. 

Our technicians also have IP/networking experience so we can better work with your IT team for installation and repairs.

Benefits of Fibre optic over copper data cabling:

2. Long distance - over 100 Metres.
3. Non-Conductive - Perfect in lightning prone areas.
4. Lower Maintenance costs.
5. Easy to upgrade without replacing the cable.

The only draw back is the cost can be higher to deploy a fibre optic data connection and any repairs are usually more expensive. 

To help prevent cable damage, most fibre optic cable we install is armoured with kevlar and is installed in conduits and with warning labels when applicable. 

We can also try and reduce costs by using pre-terminated lengths of fibre as this means we don't need to have an expensive optical fibre splicer on site.
